A record made of encounters.
Pura Bulla brings together the rhythms of the Colombian Caribbean and the possibilities of contemporary jazz. Bullerengue, lumbalú, fandango and porro meet an ensemble of musicians with different musical traditions.
Its roots reach back to fieldwork in San Basilio de Palenque and a master’s project at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Through composition and collective improvisation, that research becomes a living musical exchange.
